When people ask Clio what she does for work, she says she’s “in marketing.” And while this is not meant to be a lie, it is very far from the truth. The problem is, the real answer is likely a much longer response than any new acquaintance is looking for.
Clio started her first company Booje Media in 2009, when using social media and content marketing for business was a novel concept. She initially saw an opportunity to aid businesses wanting to reach their customers on these new social platforms, and has since grown the company to one of the most respected boutique digital agencies in western Canada.
As part of its growth, Clio began her first foray into talent and influencer management and on-boarded client Kaitlyn Bristowe, former lead of ABC’s The Bachlorette. While building Kaitlyn’s personal online brand, including her hit podcast series Off The Vine, her over 3 million social media followers, and most recently her Billboard-charting debut song “If I’m Being Honest” and digital series 9 to Wine, Clio and Kaitlyn co-founded hair accessory brand Dew Edit and wine label Spade & Sparrows, both of which have been huge hits to Kaitlyn’s devoted fans, influencers, celebrities, and more.
Since the nature of Clio’s work with Booje, Kaitlyn, Dew, and Spade & Sparrows meant countless hours spent on travelling, she was convinced by a longtime friend Nadine to start listening to more podcasts to pass the time in the skies. She was soon hooked on the powerfully simplistic medium of audio, and she and Nadine have since co-founded podcast agency Podcast Nation. With a presence in LA and Vancouver, Podcast Nation is a full-service production, sales, marketing, distribution and management agency with an exciting roster of chart-topping comedy, culture, and lifestyle podcasts.
So when you meet Clio and she tells you she’s “in marketing,” now you know why it’s an easier answer than the truth.
